Practice clubs run in school holiday time for children in Year 5 only.

They allow children to gain more confidence in specific areas and practice working under test conditions.

Priority is given to current pupils, but spaces are occasionally available for other Year 5 children (subject to assessment) too.

Children should bring their stationery, vocabulary record book, and a drink and snack for break-time.

Holiday Test Practice Clubs

These sessions are 2 hours and 50 minutes long .

We will cover timed comprehension, vocabulary and cloze test practice with instant feedback, interspersed with  board, card and interactive games, based on vocabulary-building and cloze skills.

The format of the clubs is quite different from the mainly teaching-based Literacy Club, and allows me to cover further test practice and techniques which I would not otherwise have time for in the standard classes.

Parents are emailed their child's results in all test practice areas on an anonymous comparison chart, within two days of the holiday club.

Because the activities are so varied, children tend to manage the longer session very well.

There will also be a 15 minute break - children must bring a snack and drink and will have the opportunity, in dry weather, to play outdoors - please ensure that they have sensible shoes for this.

The clubs are held at My Learning Club classroom, Brook Lane, B13.

 Holiday Clubs

Please check your child's school term dates before booking.

Each numbered club has a completely different syllabus.

Full tabled assessment feedback is given after the club.

As the test practice activities and reviews are so varied, children tend to manage and enjoy the longer enrichment sessions of 2 hours 50 minutes.

We have a 15-20 minute break during the lesson.

Each club has different sessions (A, B, C etc) to choose, to ensure that clubs stay small and children receive individual attention.

Please note this important information before booking:

I will teach all Holiday Clubs in blue. These clubs have 10 pupils.
The fee is £30 for a class of almost 3 hours.
Holiday Clubs in green are taught by Sulayman or Salah, and follow exactly the same format, papers and teaching as the other clubs. They have 6-8 pupils per club.
The Green Club fees are reduced at £20 for a class of almost 3 hours. Door entry is via Colebourne Road.

Independent Prep Holiday Clubs have 14 children max per club, include teaching as well as test practice, and are £35 per club. Essays written in class will be marked with basic feedback within 7 days. Scroll down for Independent Prep Club dates and times.
Revision Clubs revise previously covered Holiday/Class Club work. They are ideal for students who need more time and support to confidently master the work, as well as for students who will not be attending many Holiday Clubs but wish to practice the main 'highlights' from them. Scroll down for Revision Club dates and times. These are £20 per club and taught by Sulayman or Salah.
